ZooPals Make Eating Fun!
A commercial that I have always remembered was the ZooPals ad that came out in 2005. I remember seeing this ad and BEGGING my parents to take me to the store to get the fun plates with animal faces on them! This ad starts with a fork and spoon telling the kids to follow the bouncing plates. The ad continues by singing the animal noises of the plate shown. The ad then shows kids using the plates as a mask after they finished eating. They end the ad with the phrase "ZooPals make eating fun".
This ad brings back happy memories from my childhood, when I think about the commercial I can remember all the times I ate off of these plates at the kid table with my sister while watching our favorite Disney movies. I can also remember going to my grandparents house in the summer and making faces with the plate like my sister. Sometimes after dinner we would use the plates as mask and pretend we were the animals running around the house!
When you are watching an advertisement your occipital lobe is tracking what you see on the screen and your temporal lobe is processing what you hear. My hippocampus is activating because it stores my long-term memories. The amygdala is also used because it connects my emotions with my memories.
