Activity Analysis - Taking my meds
retrieved from: https://intrustcare.co.uk/5-top-tips-for-taking-medication/
It is important for me to take my medicine everyday. When I am holding my pill with my fingers, I am bringing it up to my mouth by flexing my elbow. My elbow begins in an extended position and ends in a flexed position. The action of flexion and extension occurs in the sagittal plane around the frontal axis. When thinking of the osteokinematics of the elbow movement, extension and flexion are in an open kinematic chain. When thinking about the arthokinematics of the elbow, the concave ulna rolls anteriorly and glides anteriorly on the convex surface of the humerus. The prime mover for elbow flexion is the biceps brachii where it makes a concentric contraction.
